Get your Real Estate Broker License

The Real Estate Institute at Temple University

To become a licensed broker in Pennsylvania you must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older.

  • Complete 240 hours of education.

  • Download a Broker Examination Approval Application form from the Pennsylvania State Real Estate Commission.

  • Complete the application form; submit with fee, transcripts and summary of experience.

  • Await notification of application approval and authorization to sit for the Broker Examination.

Pennsylvania Real Estate License - Continuing Education

All Pennsylvania real estate licensees (salesperson, associate broker, broker) must renew their license every two years.

The current renewal period began June 1, 2018, and ends May 31, 2020. The Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission requires all real estate licensees (including brokers and associate brokers) to complete 14 hours of education each renewal period.

Real Estate Salesperson License Process - Pennsylvania

  • Register and complete (pass) the two required courses: Real Estate Fundamentals and Real Estate Practice.

  • The Real Estate Institute will email you a transcript after course completion.

  • Apply to take the PSI state licensing exam by submitting an application, payment of $54 and a copy of your transcript, after making 2 copies - one for later use and one for your records.
