Started in Fall 2009, the Institute for Public Affairs sponsors an internship semester each fall and spring semester in Harrisburg in association with Temple’s Harrisburg campus. Students have the opportunity to explore government affairs, policymaking and implementation first-hand while being full-time students and staying on track to graduation. Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis. We encourage students from schools other than Temple University to apply as well. Watch a video on the program below.

The Master of Education (MEd) in Special Education program in the College of Education and Human Development focuses on evidence-based, instructional practices and their implementation in the classroom; recognizing and improving the impact of sociocultural factors on the education of children with disabilities; preventative approaches that de-emphasize labels and traditional diagnostic categories to support improved teaching and learning; and inclusive practices in schools and society. This graduate program offers students the option of concentrating on autism spectrum disorders, mild disabilities and severe disabilities.

Temple University Harrisburg partners with high schools in the Capitol region in the design of programs to facilitate the successful transition of students to undergraduate degree programs. Successful completion of courses in each program earns university credit. University instructors, dedicated staff, small class size, and course content combine to support students’ adaptation to college level academic standards. We tailor course offerings to the goals and needs of specific student populations or the school district.
