Adult Learners

Thinking about taking a class, earning a degree, or just seeing what college life is like? Students of all ages and backgrounds take courses at Temple University Ambler, Temple University Center City and Temple University Harrisburg. Temple's adult learners enjoy a diverse classroom experience.

We understand the need to find a balance between the many responsibilities that you manage in addition to returning to college. Some students work during the day. Our three campuses offer a variety of classes that are available in the evening and majors that you can complete entirely at night. Other students are only able to take daytime classes and can enjoy the traditional scheduling method.

Whether you want to go part-time or full time; We meet with each student individually to offer guidance, suggestions, and direction.

If you decide to apply, we can assist with that process. If you decide to take a class or two before making that commitment you can attend as a “non-degree seeking (non-matriculated)” student. We can offer ideas on appropriate courses and help with the registration process until you are ready to apply. Students are encouraged to apply to a degree program before reaching 30 credits! We can advise you on one course to try; maybe an evening course will work for you, or even starting a full-time degree program.

Bachelor of General Studies

The BGS program gives adult learners the flexibility to customize their degree to suit their needs and goals. Combine minors and certificate programs from a broad spectrum of Temple schools and colleges or choose an academic grouping.
