What is the Physical Efficiency Battery (or PEB)?

The Physical Efficiency Battery (or PEB) is designed to evaluate a candidate’s current level of physical fitness by assigning a score to their performance in several areas of fitness. The activities in the PEB were selected because they have been validated to demonstrate job-related critical tasks of a NPS Law Enforcement Ranger. The PEB consists of five different components, which measure current fitness compared to standardized fitness percentiles, controlling for gender and age. They include: Body Composition, Illinois Agility Run, Sit and Reach, Bench Press, and 1.5-Mile Run. Certified PEB evaluators record each candidate’s scores using nationally recognized fitness percentiles and make a final determination of fitness for each component. More information about the PEB may be found by visiting the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center's PEB website.

Housing Information

While attending the PRLEA program at the Temple University Ambler campus, there are numerous off-campus housing opportunities for students within the surrounding communities. A list of local short-stay and apartment complexes that have expressed interest in housing PRLEA students is available. If you are interested in finding a roommate, the Ambler Campus Office of Student Life and PRLEA Staff may be able to help. The campus does not match roommates, but we may be able to assist you in making connections with other students seeking roommates. Before you sign any formal rental agreement, you should ask important questions to ensure you are making a well-informed decision. Be sure to take the time to explore possibilities and find the right fit for you and your needs.
