Temple’s Greater Philadelphia Professional Development & Networking Conference offers attendees dynamic business networking, lush garden tours, engaging breakout sessions, and much more. Come as you are to our fun-packed and “business informal” Friday full of opportunities to elevate your position in the local business community in and around the city; you’ll make meaningful connections on Temple’s autumnal Ambler campus while learning about emerging practices and topics that are changing the way we work.

Our keynote panel of rockstar team builders includes Head Coach of Temple Men’s Basketball Adam Fisher and Head Coach of Temple Women’s Basketball Diane Richardson; they’re joined by moderator and Associate Athletic Director of Video Production and Creative Video Kevin Copp. Learn the importance of team building and communication from the coaches who make it happen every year.

  • 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. – Welcome Address and Keynote Panel

    • Come learn about how to build a successful team from the people who do it every year; our rockstar panel includes Temple Head Coaches Diane Richardson, who commands the Women’s Basketball team, and Adam Fisher, who heads up the Men’s team. They are joined by Temple broadcaster Kevin Copp to discuss how communication and team building are forever linked.

  • 10:30 a.m. - 11:20 a.m. – Professional Development: Session I

    • Strengths Team Building & Collaborative Communication - To improve via critiques, you first need to feel safe with praise; learn how praise and constructive critiques go together and how you can leverage them to unlock productivity with star instructor Audrey Heins.

    • Project Management Basics - Another deadline? Project management can help you do more than keep your head above water; learn from our expert Gerald Abdullah Jr. the foundational principles and how you can draft a breakdown of your work.

  • 11:35 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. – Professional Development: Session II

    • Emotional Intelligence - Explore the revolution taking place in workplace communication by learning with expert Judy Jarvis about how emotional intelligence can bridge gaps on teams and make impossible conversations possible.

    • Business Writing Bootcamp - A poorly written email can cost you and your organization dearly. In today’s tech-driven world, the art of writing a good email is the art of communicating – let’s learn how to do it professionally with the help of our communications master, Jimmy Miller.

  • 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. – Lunch & Resource Tables

    • Lunchtime includes free offerings from Cherry & White catering and plenty of resource tables to explore – don't forget free professional headshots for conference attendees and the chance to snag discounted tickets to Temple sports games!

  • 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. – Afternoon Speed Networking

    • After lunch, we’ll have another chance to engage in structured networking.

  • 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. – Temple Ambler Activities

    • Participants can enjoy a Temple Ambler Arboretum tour, play some video games in the E-Sports Lounge, and/or chill in a low-key relaxation space.

  • 3:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. – Closing Remarks in Ambler Gardens

  • 3:15 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. – Happy Hour & Beer Garden

    • Enjoy beers from local breweries such as Workhorse Brewing Company, peruse our native plant sale and, of course, engage in plenty of informal networking!
