Homecoming at Temple is a time to celebrate Temple pride. As Owls enjoy this time of reunions and connections at Homecoming & Family Weekend 2020, explore the many virtual experiences that showcase all that Temple provides. Reconnect with the nest at the Temple University Center City (TUCC) campus, where for nearly 50 years, thousands of people have come for credit classes, non-credit courses or have attended conferences or events.
Most people know “TUCC” as Temple University’s location that offers evening courses for adults who live or work downtown; but, there is so much more going on at 1515 Market Street. In a typical semester* graduate and undergraduate credit courses from a wide range of Temple’s programs are offered however, this academically rich campus also presents a mix of non-credit offerings that appeal to many groups and interests.
Temple’s Music Prep program, under the Boyer College of Music, offers courses for learners of all ages. Students may take lessons in standard instruments, voice, and dance with some of Philadelphia’s top teaching artists. Infants and toddlers may experience the popular Early Childhood Music Foundations class and young children can receive music lessons from skilled instructors using the Suzuki method.
Non-credit programs are popular attractions offering courses and certificate programs that may help you prepare for a new job, get ahead in your current job, explore new directions, or pursue your passions. Professional development courses provide topical training in professional communications, management, and leadership. Temple’s Real Estate Institute offers courses that can help you to develop your skills as a real estate professional.
If you are a retiree, consider the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) – a friendly social environment for learning and enrichment. In addition to its courses, OLLI’s notable Friday Forum program features an array of interesting speakers each year.
For those seeking degree programs, TUCC has many opportunities for adult learners. Graduate level and undergraduate level classes meet mainly in the evenings or on weekends to accommodate working professionals. Klein College’s Department of Journalism houses its Urban Newsroom at TUCC. The department offers classes in Center City for those students interested in entering the media communication fields.
From infants to elders, TUCC has something for everyone with its broad range of programs. Find out more at centercity.temple.edu or contact us at [click-for-email].
